Good to know. At least it's not just me? Small comfort, I suppose. My wife's Samsung phone is one Android version back, so I'll try that as a middle step. No iOS here, so I may be at RBT's mercy in the end.
I can ship you an old iOS device if needed. Just lemme know.

SOLVED: Current version of the app cannot flash the car if the "Max. RPM" option is enabled and configured. Unknown if this is Android only, or Android+iOS. Confirmed by RBT, and successfully flashed the car again after disabling this toggle.

I also have the Max RPM option enabled, stage 2, android, newest red MHD adapter, and no issues.

Not all software bugs apply to all people. Certain dongles, phones, phone OSes, app versions, car software versions can negatively interact to create unique bugs. One-off reports do not prove or disprove a real bug.

I was already on Stage 3 with max RPM enabled, but cannot re-flash this firmware without disabling the Max RPM function. There has been no change to the environment EXCEPT an app update from RBT. They've acknowledged the issue, and the flash worked after trying their fix.

To quote them:

So if anyone has the "can't flash" on Android with a recommended dongle, this might be your issue. ✌

Friendly heads-up for those who may be on the fence like me but East Coast Supra is running a sale on the XHP flash combo's right now.

Which stage do y'all recommend to make the shift faster without messing around the shift points? Car is mainly for track use and I hate the delay in manual upshifts. Don't want to change any of the default value from stock, just need it to actually shift into the gear I want when I pull the paddle...

I'm running the stage 2 OTS map and find it fine so far, maybe have 20 miles so far in D and Sport modes. Mine is used only on street though.

Did xhp this afternoon. Stage 2. Pretty awesome mod. 100% worth the money. Manual shifts are hugely improved. Car feels more driver connected

Anyone have any objective data on the effects of torque reduction on upshift and line pressure bump on the longevity / reliability and max torque capacity over stock on the stock trans?

I understand what the features do, but not sure if the torque reduction on upshift actually helps keep reduce wear 'n tear on cars near the max torque of the stock trans... and about how much more torque are people holding in 6th gear when line pressure bump is on vs off?... and will this accelerate blown seals or other issues?

I'd assume only xhp has that data, if you haven't seen already, their wiki / faq is incredibly helpful:

https://rbttuning.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RBTTUNING/pages/12058758/8-Speed+ZF+-+Custom+Options

To paraphrase / callout their wording

For torque reduction upshifts, they state that it's not dangerous to adjust it, but if you just crank the sliders to -25% for long term it will increase load and reduce clutch life. I read this as use common sense

For line pressure, they recommend ONLY using it if you are already experiencing clutch slip problems or if you are running 40-60% more torque than stock.

Very curious if anyone here feels like they understand the upshift / downshift options:

Torque Reduction during upshifts
&
Throttle Blips in M-Mode

I'm a stock car completely, 200tw tires is the only variable I account for in this tune. Stage 1 is listed as "torque limiters removed", and I flash with the "Sticky tires" preset.

Stage 2 is stage 1, PLUS
Shiftpressure and Timing maps rescaled for high power cars
Adjusted shiftmaps
Max RPM to 8k
Disabled start / stop engine feature

I don't want to raise my RPM, I don't want to disable start/stop, and my car doesn't have extra power, so while stage 2 is more aggressive than stage 1, I think I'll be sticking with stage 1.

I've had a LOT of fun with the shiftmap editor, this is the level of nitpicky I am, I have flashed easily 10 different shiftmap tunes, and I'm still dialing it in. If anyone is reading this comment thinking about buying xhp, let me reiterate the amount of control xhp gives you is insane, but it is time consuming.

With all this said, my stage 1 shifts aren't as aggressive as I want them to be, so I want to explore the torque reduction and throttle blips setting, I'm thinking about starting with a 3-10% adjustment across the board on both settings, but I'd love to hear from anyone who feels like they understand these settings.

On RPM - This is a transmission tune, it can’t raise your redline, the “max RPM” is just where the trans will shift when at WOT. 8k is just the max you can set it to, you can drop it to whatever you want.

On start/stop - that’s a toggle to turn it on or off, you don’t have to use it.

If you want more aggressive shifts, go to stage 2.
