Now to see how many manuals they will sell. I wonder if it will be like people clamoring for the Vantage to have a manual only for them to discontinue it after 1 year of production since they did not sell any. But it's a different market so hopefully sales will be great.

At least now car reviewers can shut the fuck up about it.

Edit: Actually now they'll probably bitch about lower torque numbers and longer gears.

I still love the ZF8, it's fantastically good, even with 3x other supras with MT.

I will drive a 6MT A90 before making my decision. The ZF8 is that good.
I'm with you there, I love the ZF and it's my daily. I'll need to drive the manual before I trade it in.

I have no intention of trying to trade in for a manual at this point but I know if I were in the market right now to buy a Supra, I would probably opt for the manual.

I don't love the ZF8. I mean its by far the best automatic car i've driven but there is something about rowing the gears, I love it. All my cars prior to the RDX were manuals.
Do I love the idea of a manual supra, yes. Will I end up trading in what I have, probably not. Golf R daily with a 6spd instead.

To everyone sitting here dogging on the manual... Im glad you got your auto, now let us have our moment and let us be excited for a manual. Some of us have waited for 3 years 4 Years for this. Ive been in the supra world for decades and I for one am manual only spec guy and it will match my MKIV. I know the auto is faster, thats great, but I want to row my own gears. It has nothing to do with who can have faster lap time.

1/4 mile time, not lap time. :p

I don't hate on manuals, I'm glad there's a choice. There should have always been a choice.

If you want laptimes and drag times, absolutely stick with the auto, but im going for neither of those. Im just glad we have a choice and I can finally get my manual. It will also probably be the last manual ever for the supra name before it goes hybrid or ev or some shit

I'd honestly drive an EV Supra. Bring it on, Toyota.

I hope it’s not too late to put down a deposit and get this launch day. Will be contacting dealers this afternoon…

I say let there be blood. If it isn't manuals vs automatics it's something else. Both sides spit as much hate as the other.

Enthusiast communities are so full of vitriol and elitism that these things should be expected.

I think you'll be good. Simulated manuals may be an option for electric cars.

I've also read up where one automaker already has something in development... But I can not find the tech article at the moment.

I'm sure that you'd be able to also switch between full auto and simulated manual whenever you want.

Only in manual for me! bahaha But it needs a clutch pedal of some sort. Manual without clutch is just weird

Talked to my toyota connection and he has no list up yet. Not enough detail for them to start it he said. No markup dealer though which is awesome

Funny how everyone dogged on the auto and now that the tables have flipped, it’s not fair anymore. Interesting lol

If they put the same transmission/clutch as in the M3, then I don't think you will get issues with clutch slipping, at least the basic DP+E50 combo, it will do just fine.

On the M4 I have ECU flash tune, and I have logs of both, the Supra and the M4. Looks like the Supra was pushing 405~412 kW / 650 ftlb at the crank when I had the E50 custom tune (Marin), and the M4 with the 91 OTS map is doing about 415 kW, there is no clutch slip or anything, it's holding just fine.

Now with the E30 custom tune though, it's slipping hard, but it's doing 480 kW / 780 ftlb at the crank, so I would say, if you improve to Pure800, it will slip for sure, but I guess is the same thing with the auto right?

Still, we all know the autos would be always faster, on the 100 - 200 / 60 - 130, I am between 0.5s and 1 s slower than the competition, same power but, between the clutch slip and the manual shift, compared to the ZF, I am way slower, but it's so fun to drive.

Either way, I would wait for the Supra with S58 and manual, that's the Goose of the Golden eggs.
