Does anyone have any updates from their dealers? Is it safe to say the rumors of dealers receiving allocations end of March a bust?

Last I spoke to my salesman ( 2 or 3 days ago), they didn't have any updated info

Spoke to my rep yesterday. Next month Toyota is launching a website for the dealers to submit their sold orders on Supra. We were specifically told to take the sold orders at the dealership but don't send them into Toyota until the website is live. I've said it a bunch of times on the forum here before but not one single dealer in the nation has been allocated any Supras yet and from the sounds of it they won't at least for another month. Like I've also said some (very few) dealers may have a rough idea of how many they may get but they don't know which ones they are getting.

Exciting news! I received an email about an hour ago saying that they can now order my Supra! I signed the purchase agreement which clearly states that the vehicle will be sold as MSRP.

Only downside is they asked for 2 color choices and there is only one white Supra that I want.

Anyway, something seems to have moved forward in the dealer ordering process.

Does anyone know what percentage of the Launch Editions vehicles will be equipped with the drivers assistance package?

I guess anyone who responds to this, would be speculating, unless there is someone, “in the know.”

It could be a little disappointing if the dealership calls and has a non-preferred color that is lacking the driver’s assistance package...

One would think that the Launch Editions would come loaded, however, Toyota’s press release shows it as an option on the launch cars...and with nobody being able to order the color/setup that they want, there will likely be some disappointed buyers....

Don’t get me wrong, Toyota will still find buyers for the vehicles. But, when you start talking 60k in a color you don’t want and lacking options that you wanted, one may start having second thoughts....

My dealer who is located in upstate NY is telling me they "think" I will be able to request color and options soon though the toyota order process the dealer normally uses. They did say there was no way they could promise they would get that exact car but thought it is possible. They told me the one launch edition they expect to get is mine at MSRP if I want the color and options that come on it. Should I not want that car, I will be able to refuse it and get my full deposit refunded. Do they know what they are talking about or just guessing, who knows. I have bought many cars from this dealer and the salesman is a personal friend of mind so I believe if they can get me what I want they will do it. Time will tell. I also want the Driver Assist package.

sold orders? did they buy them with coupons? slept in front of the dealers?:banghead:

@ToyotaUSA @ToyotaGlobal why can't this process be civil like in EU? I signed up for DE wait list for the heck of it and to get more info. Got email saying I can order now. Then, few weeks later got a follow up email saying I'm about to lose my place.
Do people need to be "long time" "Toyota" customers to get a hold of this gem in USA? I'm still extremely disappointed. Come April with dealer website or whatever is online, I'm sure by the time I get around to a decent up-to-date dealer in MI, allocations will be gone!!! *sigh*
Wish I knew more about the dealer process in US and wish I could influence it for the better. :bat:

In answer to your question do you need to be long time Toyota customers, I think yes it certainly helps. If you are the dealer and know you are only getting one car who would you rather sell it too? I would want to keep my loyal Toyota customer happy. That being said the way I got be be first on the list at my dealer was the day the car was revealed back in January in Detroit I called my salesman and asked what I needed to do to get this car. He talked to the sales manager and was told I could have the car for full MSRP if I put a two thousand dollar fully refundable deposit down on the car. First person to do that has first choice of the car upon seeing it in person. I immediately gave the deposit via my credit card to get locked into getting the car. My salesman who is a friend of mine called me back a few hours later to tell me someone else came into the dealership shortly after I gave my deposit to leave a deposit on the same car and was told he would be second on the list and was not happy about it. I have been following this car for years leading up to the final reveal of the car, and in fact talked to the sales manager about two years prior to the car being revealed that I was very interesting in it. I guess in this case it paid to be paying attention to what was going on with the car while others did not realize that Toyota was even thinking about a new Supra. You may not be able to get a Launch edition car, but you can certainly get another car as Toyota will want to sell all they can. Good luck.

I am located in WA State. From what I was told, allocations will be in August. September will be the timeframe to pick up/purchase.
