Do you think you can install these without removing the entire mount from the car? meaning unbolt the top, unclip the plastic section on the bottom through the hole in the subframe, install the inserts, and reinstall the plastic section.
Removing the entire mount from the car is very easy. Take the engine cover off, then jack up the engine at the flat spot on the block just in front of the seam between the block and the transmission. You can get the engine high enough to pluck out both mounts with your hands. Might need some wiggling and twisting to get the angle right, but they'll come out. Driver side is a little harder. With some practice, you can get the mounts swapped in an hour or less. Crack the etorx bolts on the mounts before you jack the engine up so you have safe leverage.

When lowering the engine back down, leave the mounts floating a few millimeters above the subframe and get the very long bolts (underside of subframe) started on both sides. Then set the engine down and run them home. Bring the etorx bolts to spec.

Thanks, though do you think the black section is small enough to be dropped through the subframe directly? Am hoping to run the powerflex setup.

No, sir. To install the Powerflex motor mount inserts, the mount must be removed from the car and disassembled.

I got a shop to do it for me, so can't comment too deeply on the specifics. But the first part of the insert (5-5452A) is cut open so you could theoretically slide it on while the mount is still in place, but the upper section (5-5452B) is a single piece which has to slide over the top metal peak to get on.

The shop took ~5h including new downpipe install, subframe mount inserts and trans mounts. Motor mounts by themselves are probably 3-4h.

Update: If I had the choice between driving my car with the Verus mounts some more, or buying the Black Forest mounts five times... I'd buy the Black Forest mounts five times. They are so much more sane than the Verus mounts, and you still cannot rock the engine.

IMHO there's only one worthy choice for a streetable Supra and it's Black Forest. If you're all track all day, then the Verus are fine, but no way can I recommend them for the street.

So happy I bought these.
How are they treating you these days?

The bladder in one of my stock mounts collapsed so I replaced them both with the BFI Stage 1 mounts a couple months ago. First week-ish was awful. Everytime I drove the car, I had the “Fuck. I just ruined this car.” train of thought. Eventually they calmed down a fair bit, but the door panels vibrating when taking off from a stop is getting old and I’ve been considering ordering stock mounts and putting the PowerFlex inserts in them.

I still run them daily. Ended up adding some foam and NVH tape in a few strategic locations, but all is well.

I’m assuming the foam and tape is to help with the doors and dash/console vibrations?

I had rattle in my right door and a spot in the trunk. Every car is going to be different.

I reached out to 038Motorsport which is known to make OEM+ style mounts that increase stiffness without increasing NVH. This is what they had to say:

This is good news, should be the PERFECT product for us daily drivers on stockish power levels. I look forward to the release.

Don’t be fooled by 034’s claims. I’ve used their mounts and plates before and they are harsh AF. They also fail easily. Never again.

I've been on powerflex red street inserts and torque solutions trans mount for about 2000 miles and everything is great. Vibration at idle is very minimal to the point that it is not noticeable to anyone but me. Very small rpm range in auto comfort that has a minor buzz, somewhere around 70mph. The pros are in the throttle response feeling, crispy upshifts, and snappier all around feel.

Install was very easy. I would say 1.5 to 2hrs. Loosen up the bolts and jack motor up high enough to remove the mounts. Once removed, opening the oem mounts is pretty straightforward. I've had many solid mount cars and was 100% sure I did not want that in my supra.

Does the car shake more with the AC on? Looking at the combo you have.

Do you have an auto or manual? Wanted to see if it tightened shifting

It did not shake more with AC on. I think the idle gets bumped up when ac is on. I have an 8speed auto. At high rpm the shifts pop hard and you can feel every bit of it.
