Hoping this will help other members out. Well I tried the standard port addition upgrade without much success. I wanted a subwoofer that could hit hard and loud,, not break the bank, doesn’t take up too much space and could be easily removed for track days. So I did some research, spent $350 and 4 hours and can’t believe how amazing this subwoofer sounds. Very easy to duplicate and everything came from Amazon. I used Velcro to hold the box and amp in place.

Nicely done, very pragmatic, and more than sufficient!

Had I kept my Supra this is the route I would have taken as well as add crossovers to the two existing woofers to have them operate as mid bass drivers...

I wouldn't have guessed this in a million years....i wonder what the logic was on that rather than say just bolting it down....crazy.

Bolts add weight and as usual, manufacturers always try to make adding aftermarket stereo goodies difficult as f***!

My goodness, the guy in this video loves carbon fiber eh?
I'm not really sure what he is showing us here. All of us that have tried to improve these subs has been to this point.

lol I thought the same thing!

anyway, vid is 3 years old, the reason I shared is I thought he was highlighting a method to assist in removing the sub “enclosure” going under that center console storage area. But I found it very hard to follow I’m probably wrong.
But around 4 minutes into the video he seems to conclude that after removing whatever is under the console storage area, that the whole sub enclosure can lift out?

Noooo. You'll have to cut metal to remove the sub "boxes". The whole structure is welded to the body. Once the interior plastic is removed and the OEM subs are removed, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I thought I'd contribute a pic of my install. Not the prettiest, but it is removable and I do retain most of my storage space. I can still carry a set of golf clubs in the back. IMHO the mod adding the ports are fine for most types of music, but occasionally, I want to listen to booming bass and that's when the stock subs fall short even with the mod. That's when you do need another amp and sub. I'm a little partial to JLs, they've been my goto subs for the last 30 years. The bass is now is more than enough for me, especially in a small cabin and is still clean sounding.

does the amp come with its own adjustable Bass knob?

Has anyone simply upgraded their OEM subs with "Bavsound" subs? claim thats all you have to do, and you'll get much more Bass.
