Bottom line as agreed upon by the racing engine test:
APPLICATION DICTATES CHEMISTRY/VISCOSITY.
I've been saying this all along. Street-driven conditions almost always benefit from lower viscosity oils as recommended by the manufacturer. Elevated oil temps from frequent racing/track use warrant higher viscosity oil. My situation is the former.
Side note: I never use oil additives.

Last time i checked the supra was a sports car. Even on the street and highway, majority of supra's will see High load scenarios. Application dictates chemistry. Higher viscosity offers more protections from wear. Did you bother watching till the end of the video to see the bearing wear results?

Liqui moly is a lot of marketing and pushes oil additives, IMO stay away from brands like that. Especially when a same LL01 brand at Walmart offers the same protection at a cheaper price.

It's actually not. It's a posting of factual manufacturer documentation without anything else. People just can't help themselves.
I don’t even know what he’s asking… Regardless, I don’t like the fact they could void our warranty for using a better oil for MY car because of stupid government regs. Is that true? How is that even possible when higher viscosity oils are being used across the globe. I’ve seen your Blackstone oil tests & read more versed convos on the subject?

Yup Motul 5W40 X-Cess Gen2 for me as well. Appreciate it brother. And if someone wants maximum gas mileage cafe ☕ standard 0W20 oil, regardless of conditions, use or local, have at it. But I don’t think our warranties should be voided for doing our homework & ultimately what’s best for the car under my conditions.

Higher viscosity oil offers greater protection at higher temps, given the bearing/journal gap amount. At 220F average oil temps, it is highly unlikely that you will have engine wear issues.
I never see cars on the street performing as they do on a track or the Autobahn. Look at your average speed. Is it north of even 60?
Does anyone really think that Toyota wants shorter engine life?

No one answered the question I had asked, "What does BMW specify for oil viscosity in their Z4 manual, here in the US?" Is it 5W-40?

Do our cars have the petrol particulate filter or is it dependent on region?

Yeah, I did notice your post #2 here and then calling out other people later on. I guess you're right about posting info then people not being able to help themselves.

So, that video showed what, that Liqui Moly is a bad oil? Use your words, I'm sure you can do it.

If you're trying to imply all oils are kinda of about the same, then join the club, I'm with you. That's why I was skeptical someone reposting someone else saying Liqui Moly was mediocre. Maybe read my reply again since you misunderstood it. Or provide some actually info showing Liqui Moly is mediocre, if that was your intent.

Funny crowd here.

Yea I called out BoomerConcept but that is because he deserves it, he was very adamant about proving me wrong around facts I shared before. So when I shared more facts I made sure he saw them.

It's all good. I was actually coming back to see if I could delete my post altogether, because, you know, why bother, but it's too late.
