installed. Pretty straightforward. Even a caveman can do it…. That clamp looks pretty close but there’s enough space. If I develop a weird clunky noise I’ll make sure to check the suspension first.

anyone have an insert inside their subframe when putting in the new insert specifically for the most inner hole? the other didn’t have one but the inner one did that i could feel with my finger. I have a 2021 if that means anything. I threaded it in on the innermost to feel if it would even touch the new insert and it doesn’t. i also fingered it around to see if i can remove it and it seems not to be removed. I didn’t see it listed on the instructions so thought i’d bring it up here for support.

Appreciate any guidance

Everything lined up 10000% zero issues. Maybe the insert is flipped?

Man, that logo really put a dent in your sales.
Pictures aren't as good as measurements, but it's not looking good. Thanks for the reply though.

Once it's warmer and I'm swapping the wheels over to the summer setup I'll get under there with a ruler and make a more official confirmation. Maybe there will be a 3rd group buy some day given how well these have sold (congrats, BTW).

Edited:

I pretended I had to work from home for a while this morning, and got the back of the car up and took some pictures from underneath.

If I was smarter I'd have grabbed the height of that bolt while I was in the garage, instead of thinking about it afterwards like right now, or at least the height of the nut (since I'm sure I can get a shorter bolt). Sorry.
Thanks for this! I'm sorry, I read this earlier but today has been super busy so i'll update you. I appreciate you 🫶

I apologize im not sure if im understanding correctly. Are you saying there was already something inside your subframe? Or are you having issues threading in the innermost m8 bolt?

I see some other people have already replied but make sure when you put the insert in the holes are oriented correctly. It is not mirrored. If you're having trouble fishing it back out, you can use a magnet considering its steel. I can use my fingers but I also tried the magnet and some of those curved picks you get from mcmaster

A pre-existing insert that can't be removed? Is it the retaining nut for the factory mass damper? Or if it's threaded, was your car previously owned by someone else? And they installed a vargas diff brace and the nutsert broke off in the hole

In there like swimwear for GB #2! Order# is just 1 shy of the # I used when racing 2 wheels and also use for HPDEs. Thanks for doing a second group buy.

mystery solved, thanks for the advice everyone!i put a camera in the sub frame to see what was up and i think @i3igpete was right that it was the retaining clip for the mass dampener. the road dirt over the years made it cemented in there but a good hammer whack on the clip got it loose.

with the camera in there, I saw what it was and saw that the clip had a lip that extended just outside the access hole. from the outside you wouldn’t think it was connected but it was after pulling it out.

after popping the clip, the new insert went in flat and i was able to finish the install!

@rwense great product! i might recommend adding to the instructions that little bit about the retaining clip being in the sub frame. Some, like myself, might not know about it being there and that it needs to be removed. Instructions just detail about the dampener being removed and doesn’t specify the clip.

Ok, sorry finally had a bit of time to look over these and refer back to my CAD. It looks reaaaaaally tight, enough so that I'm pretty sure there would be some interference. Without actually mounting one up with that chassis brace I'm going to err on the side of caution then. I do know someone from the Z4 Fb groups ordered one after we discussed whether or not it would fit and he decided to order one regardless. So we will get an update at some point then.

Also good news, I received these pics from a customer. He reported that the Verus scoop does work with the brace with just a bit of dremeling. Note that the cut on the left side will most likely need to be replicated for the right side when using the 4-bolt brace. I'll also update the initial post.
