Pretty much haven't driven the car since the last track weekend, weather here has been awful with non-stop rain for the last month. Looking like it won't rain this weekend so I'm finally going to get some miles on the car with the new round of mods. Need to make sure there are no issues, next track event is next weekend.

I did get a chance to check the post manifold temps after the wagner mani install. A 4th gear pull seems to give a 8F delta when looking strictly at the post manifold charge temp. a 2-3-4 pull is a 12f delta. When I compare this against pre turbo temps the delta shrinks to 3F. Seems to be in line with the chart on wagner's site showing manifold performance. I really need proper logging, this will be resolved soon.

p3 gauge installed, might be the easiest install I've done yet.

Rock guards, noticed the ppf on the bottom half of the front fender was pretty beat already. Its doing its job but I would rather not have to replace it every year.

Diff cooling plate installed. Also had to adjust the exhaust again while I was in there. Not loving the fitment of this. May remove it entirely for a different system if it continues to give me problems with shifting after heat cycling.

Turbo heat shield, lined it with gold reflective tape.

I also picked up a set of apex vs5rs 18x11 +40 square for my track day set during the recent sale. Won't be running these until the MCS coilovers go in this summer. Tires are 295/35 RE71rs. Will continue to buy these for as long as discount tire has stock. $340/each is a good price. Tempted to buy multiple sets while they still have stock but I want to confirm the 35 sidewall is a good fitment first.

Also picked up a garmin catalyst 2. I need to run the wiring and get it mounted in the car before next weekend.

Will be monitoring temps closely at the track this weekend on the p3 gauge in the absence of proper logging. I have the verus oil cooler on the parts list but don't care to buy it until its really needed. I think the June track event will probably tell me whether its needed since it'll be 95f+ and 80% humidity by then. After that its off season until october.

Future plans. After next weekend I'll be pulling and shipping the ECU for an unlock and flashing it to stage 2 while I look for a tuner to make a track day map for me. MCS 2wnr coilovers will be ordered as well.

Those wheel and tire specs are exactly what I run. They fit with no issues.

Don't see a need for a rear diff brace at this point? Also, maybe I'm completely overthinking this, but did you find the angle needed from the mounting points for the master cylinder brace a bit extreme? I found if you actually pushed the brace against the strut tower so it couldn't possibly shift, the "foot" would barely be able to even touch the MS. I made a super crude drawing lol, the yellow marks the back of the brace. Seems like they should have designed the base to angle more inward from the get go.

Cool, I'll get some extra sets in that case. Not looking forward to paying around $500/tire for the rz.

Only if I can get the diff brace without the logo...

I think the master cylinder brace is fine with the angle.

MSRH has lots of debris in the paddock and on the track surface. I’ve stopped driving there unless it’s a member day with only a few cars. Too many windshield chips/cracks.

Yeah, its quite bad. My windshield got a year's worth of chips in it from one weekend. The plastic side skirts are trashed already. I won't be doing the hpde thing here too much longer. Plan to buy a membership later this year or early next year so I can go on open lapping days during the week. Just have to get to a point where I can take days off from work. Then I can travel to other tracks as well. For now I'm stuck with these weekend events.

Some pics from last weekend. Ran the track in cw direction so I had to re-learn it since last time was ccw. Fastest time of the weekend was a 1:52.99. Plenty of room for improvement. I did take the traction/stability control fully off this weekend, far more enjoyable to drive with it fully off. Next event is a single day in June, not sure if I'll do this one, it'll likely be too hot.

Next round of mods on order. Pulled the dme out last night and boxed it up for a femto unlock and bought a mhd flasher and license. Looking for a remote tuner if anyone has suggestions. Only care about a good track day 93 map.

MCS 2wnr coilovers will be ordered this weekend as well.

I'll be holding off on the verus oil cooler for now, temps were fine over the weekend peaking in the 240s so I have head room at least for this track. The tracks up in the DFW area may change my mind on it, we'll see.

One other thing I'm trying to figure out is spring rates for the mcs coilovers. Vendor I'm likely going to order from is suggesting a 14k/18k divorced rear setup based on where I'm headed with the car. My only concern here is this may be a bit too high for street use. I'll need the ability to travel to other tracks around where I live which means 4-6 hour roadtrips.

Now that I've had some time to gather my thoughts and analyze data from last track weekend the path forward seems more clear. Getting a better feel for how the car behaves and how to drive it. Plenty to clean up still.

I don't like the way the rear of the car feels. Particularly under heavy braking and into trail braking zones. It feels a bit unstable and a bit all over the place. This didn't bother me as much in first track weekend but was much more noticeable this past weekend. I'm not sure if this is because something is off with the rear alignment or because lap times are consistently dropping and now its more noticeable. This is backed by data showing my biggest opportunities are in braking down the pit straight, back straight, and front straight. I was absolutely holding back into those trail braking zones. This will only get worse with more power.

The other component is the amount of dive I get into the heavy braking zones, pretty sure this is contributing to the issue above. High speed sweepers and higher speed corner exits could be better, doesn't feel super planted. Had to really focus on getting onto and off brakes smoothly. Need higher spring rates as mentioned by others in here.

I'm starting to struggle to not slide around in my seat in some of the higher g corners as well. Will have to add aftermarket seats to the list soon. I imagine this is going to get worse quickly.

Overall good learning opportunity with the car with lap times becoming more consistent and lower all weekend. I'm convinced I can drop a couple seconds per lap with another weekend in this configuration and no changes to the car but I can't leave things alone so that won't happen. Pace was good, top 1/3 of the group I think with only a handful of cars needing passes, most of them with a 100-300hp advantage. Car is far more fun with the tcs fully turned off, I don't think I'll run with on any longer other than in low grip scenarios or when learning a new track.

I decided to pick up a set of verkline rear traction arms and rear toe arms to try and help with some of this. In combination with the mcs coilovers I'm thinking this will address a good bit of what I didn't like. Still shocked at how fast this car is on track with relatively minimal mods.

I'll also be looking at suspension/chassis mods to get rid of a lot of the factory isolation where you can't always feel what the car is doing. Think 2000s era sports cars and how those communicate what they're doing vs modern cars. Not looking for full on race car nvh inducing parts but something in between.
