6MT compared to BMW manuals?

Hi all, currently own a 6MT F87 M2 Comp but have the Supra itch, so may make the switch soon. How does the 6MT in the Supra compare to the F/G series M cars? I really have not enjoyed the manual in mine, after adding a SSK, CDV delete and upgraded bushings and trans mounts, the shifting experience is improved but the rev hang still mutes it for me. I realize this can.m be improved with tuning, but just wanted to see if the Supra 6MT suffers from the same drawbacks, thanks!

A lot of it is in the tuning, flywheel weight and reportedly the rev-match option if you use it.

personally haven’t tuned my MT, but there was a slight difference in rev hang when I had a new clutch and lighter flywheel installed, but it wasn’t major. I’ve also done the CDV delete and bushing replacement.

not sure what kind of feedback you’re looking for though — the shifting experience for me is satisfying on the car.

1st to 2nd gear, I can not stand.

Been driving manuals for year and I question my ability sometimes in this car lol.

It's probably the best BMW manual I've ever felt, but it is still very decidedly a BMW feeling manual if that makes sense?

I haven't done the CDV Delete yet, so the 1-2 shift is fairly clunky. I'm planning on doing the CDV Delete at the end of this month along with an Autosolutions Short shifter and front/rear carrier bushings which from what I've read, transforms the shifting experience a fair but but I guess we'll see once it's done.

I have 28,000 miles on mine ranging from stock to 750whp. In stock form it's slightly better than BMW manuals, when you modify it... same shit

That being said it's still not honda or porsche good, or even close. I would even say STI trans feels better too.

But it's enjoyable forsure

I drove a colleague’s MT G87.

Stock for stock, the Supra’s had much less vagueness and rubbery feeling.

So Toyota did do something with it.

That said, I have an AutoSolutions SSK which really tightened everything. It’s not as slick as a Honda box, but it has improved.

I’m looking to do the Rogue shifter bushing kit to see if it improves anything.
