Finally the Powerflex engine mount inserts + trans mounts have been installed, so I'm going to post my journey below for the one person googling "GR supra trans mounts" in 5 years from now haha. TLDR: Powerflex inserts are great, Verus motor mounts ruin D mode driving due to bad NVH.

When I mention wheel hop, I'm talking about a specific scenario - manual mode in 2nd gear around 2-3k rpm, traction off, floor it in a straight line. Depending on the road surface, you'll get wheel hop as boost kicks in. I'm on the stock Michelins so it loses traction on stock power, but not enough to completely burn the tires. This is the only scenario in which I get wheel hop, but it's a fun one so I wanted to fix it up and make sure if it ever hops I minimise damage.

Step 1: Verus motor mounts (70A) + Torque solutions trans mounts.
Posted my thoughts above in the thread, but to summarise - it feels and sounds GREAT but ruins D mode driving enough for me that it's a dealbreaker. This is just a fun weekend car for me and I still got annoyed enough at having to drive in manual mode above 2k rpm to my destination. Driveline felt very stiff and connected which was great too, definitely would recommend this if you're going for absolute stiffness and feel.

Step 2: Just Verus motor mounts
The worst setup IMO. The trans mounts gave all the good feel + sound, and the bad NVH did not improve at all. Noticably increased wheel hop compared to step 1, so I think the trans mounts help more than engine mounts here. The sound of the engine mounts is a lot more muted and (subjectively) less pleasant than the trans mounts.

Step 3: Just Powerflex motor mount inserts (fast road, red colour)
Honestly this is just stock + 10%. Very mild increase in rumble and feel, but you do get a similar idle roughness like with the Verus mounts. I'm getting a tune in a couple of months so I'll ask them to increase the idle rpm a touch to smooth that out. No complaints here, it's just not a huge difference which is great for me because I just want motor mounts to support having trans mounts and diff bracing - you don't want to stiffen things down the line (diff + trans) without stiffening things at the start (engine).

Step 4: Powerflex motor mount inserts + Powerflex trans mount (fast road, yellow colour)
I love this setup. D mode driving is as smooth as stock, just with some added noise that is pleasant but not overbearing. A pleasant rumble (both sound and vibration) when you're stepping on it. The added sound is all quite deep and rumbly, no high pitched gear whine. I thought the car was too quiet with the windows up, but this setup is now a good volume for me. Definitely not as much vibration as the more solid mounts - I'd say like 30-40% of the vibration/feel and 50-60% of the volume. Wheel hop is noticably reduced - when it does hop, it's significantly less violent.

I'm going to install the Twisted Tuning diff bracing too but I don't expect that to increase NVH at all

Also one note on the trans mounts that might not be apparent in online pics - the Torque solutions trans mounts are one single bolt, whereas the Powerflex ones are two disconnected bolts. OEM is also two disconnected bolts. Any mounts with two disconnected bolts will be less stiff, which was the right choice for me.

ironically torque solutions trans mounts are a carbon copy of our trans mounts. They copied them and started selling them. pretty sad, but such is life.

EDIT: if you still have the OEM subframe mount bushings, then the diff braces wont effect the NVH much if at all if any.

Ironically Supra trans mounts are the exact same style as nearly every other BMW trans mount for the last 30 years... It's a piece of polyurethane with a bolt going through it.

not talking about every other trans mount. just ones i made, that were copied. many of the OEM mounts are separated in the middle though. which is why they tear. well many of the modern BMW OEM mounts.

I think what Kyle was trying to say is nearly all of the upgraded transmission mounts for BMW’s are the same design bolt through/bushing, so there isn’t much to copy.

I've also grown to hate my Verus mounts. The NVH isn't worth it for a daily driver. I've purchased a set of BFI mounts and will report back sometime in the future when I have time to install them. (lol)

Update: If I had the choice between driving my car with the Verus mounts some more, or buying the Black Forest mounts five times... I'd buy the Black Forest mounts five times. They are so much more sane than the Verus mounts, and you still cannot rock the engine.

IMHO there's only one worthy choice for a streetable Supra and it's Black Forest. If you're all track all day, then the Verus are fine, but no way can I recommend them for the street.

So happy I bought these.

SPL parts & sway bars here. Done spending for a while (besides recent race decals ?). Did you get any of these Kyle? I seeing more and more guys at the track driving their asses off in their brand spanking new Supras. The free track day is paying off & the car does well. So with stock power, any advantage with these? Just curiosity sake. Thx y’all ✌?

I've had the solid Verus mounts in my car for ~2000 miles. I cannot say that it feels any different than stock. Other people who have driven my car say otherwise. Maybe I just cannot feel NVH like some.

I’ve been running Verus motor mounts (80A/medium inserts) all season and they feel great. They definitely stop the motor from lugging all over the place. No noticeable NVH increase, although my car was already about as loud and stiff as it can get - 4” straight pipe, spl catalogue, sway bars, coilovers etc

For trans mounts, I tried torque solutions for the Heartland Motorsport Park Gridlife event and didn’t really like the change. Vibration at certain speeds increased a lot and car was more susceptible to stepping out on downshifts.

In particular are some medium/low speed corners that you can carry a lot of speed into but bleed it off you carry through… any attempt to downshift mid corner there was an instant loss of traction lol. Made it a little challenging since my tune doesn’t really like revs dropping below 4k

going to try softer trans mounts in the future, although oem ones did seem fine with the rest of the setup

I had this same experience re: the car being unsettled through corners when downshifting with the Verus mounts, FWIW.

Do you think you can install these without removing the entire mount from the car? meaning unbolt the top, unclip the plastic section on the bottom through the hole in the subframe, install the inserts, and reinstall the plastic section.
