Radar Detector Direct Wire

Can anyone tell me how to carefully and without breaking tabs, remove the cover from behind the rear-view mirror adjacent to the windshield? I want to hook my radar detector direct wire pigtail up to the rear-view power as I have done so on other cars i've owned.

I have a new 2022 3.0 Premium and would rather neatly have the short pigtail than the big heavy coiled cigarette lighter plug coming down to the center console.

There is a seem down the center of the two halves of plastic. Just give it a slight yank to separate the two.

A pry tool also helps to spread the two pieces apart before pulling them down.

I did that for my dash cam as well since my parking mode battery pack is in the glove box.

I just did mine about a week ago and I used a pry tool to wedge underneath each clip and then I pulled, working my way down the housing. This was the result

Thank you for everyone's help, I was able to separate the two halves easy enough and then hook in the wire tap to the rain sensor power feeds. I also found this Supra specific YouTube video too, although the wiring was the same as Christians video above.

Here's a photo of my final install. The only thing is, the two suggested wires for the rain sensor control, do not shut off, so my radar detector is on all of the time. In time I will try and pin out the mirror wires to see if there is power that is only on when the ignition is on, unless anyone has figured it out already.

Did you figure out which wires to tap so radar is not on all the time, only with ignition?

Actually it turned out that it turns off after a while on its own, not sure how long, but I know when I come back to my car, it’s off and as soon as I unlock or open the door, it comes back to life.
