Wonder if this will fix the stupid useless wireless charger from overheating the crap out of phones. I remember that it's got a cell repeater built in.
My Ultra 23 phone's battery lasts for two days, so I never have a need to charge it in the car.

my car has a femto unlock - i'm never taking it in for any type of update ever again.

If it would ever HAVE to go to the dealership, i have an ODB port lock that would be going on the car.

Took my car to get this done yesterday. Pretty sure it'll fuck a tune up if you have one done as they asked me if my ECU was tuned. They update your ISTEP to the current version when doing this recall too as an FYI for anyone who wanted to get that done as well or needed an excuse to go get that done.

I do believe they will, any unlocked ECU they will likely relock...
I asked them today about the ECU and they said no but I don't trust that they really know. They said only the specific module.

I know the notice talks about voice calls, but will avoiding the update cause issues with navigation and Maps updates?

Ahhhh, just as I decided NOT to bring my car in for annual service (free because I purchased extended warranty / extended care whatever it’s called), this came. I guess no harm for me to get it done since my car is basically stock LOL.

if you aren't going to use it, are you getting it refunded? it's pro-rated refund anyway

LIMITED-SERVICE CAMPAIGN 24TD04 (Remedy Notice) - Certain 2020 -2023 Model Year GR Supra - Data Communication Module (DCM) Update

Description
Due to incorrect software in the Data Communication Module (DCM) in your vehicle, the DCM cannot connect to the 4G cellular service. Therefore, after the 3G cellular service was sunset, voice communication with service providers when using connected services like Emergency call and Roadside assistance, is not available.
Remedy
Any authorized Toyota dealer will reflash the Data Communication Module (DCM)
yea, not risking my ECU lol. especially with their history of not knowing a damn thing about our cars even though they're "specially trained techs"

How do you opt out of the data collection for the Supra?

I can't remember if I did it, just want to double check.

The extended Toyotacare is actually good. They'll service the car for 4 years. They also replace air filters (both) and give you new spark plugs on the 4th year.

If you have the extended warranty as well, you'll need to document all the maintenance.

As for this new update recall, I believe everything gets updated to whatever is current. So if you want to wait 5 years to do this, you'll get 5 years of new updates applied

I have full record of my maintenance so I’m not too worry about any future warranty issues. Their 12,000 km oil change interval is a big no no for me. I have had like 3 oil changes in a year already (even though it only has 4000 km) because I do track days and want ā€betterā€ engine oil in it. Like many here, Iā€˜m just skeptical about Toyota tech working on a bimmer product.

Anyway, I think I will get this recall done what the heck right.
