I ran map 3 on 93 for several months just fine, especially without the downpipe, your boost shouldn't spike and remain tame.
You need to monitor boost, AFR, fuel duty cycle, and your ign timing to figure out as there will always be different factors like Air Temps, altitude etc...

Is map2 safer than map 3? Obvious answer is yes, since it's a less aggressive map.

No 93 oct in my area. Will run 91 with CAI, charge pipe and high-flow catted downpipe. Map 2 then?

And if I add some Octane booster in a full tank (13.7 gallons) of 91 oct, will I be able to run map 3?
This is what I'm doing for Map 3 so I think you should be fine. I use booster to push 93 octane up to 97-98~ octane and the car's been running fine now that I have EWG harness.

I've heard some people mention that map3 can cause overboosting issues. Is that true? For a stock car on 93, is map2 the safer option?
I've only had over boosting when running 98 octane on map 3 & catless DP. I sent logs to Terry and he recommended EWG harness, once installed the boost is staying at target now and running well with spiked fuel!

Because of the potential locked Ecu on my 2021 I got JB4 and EWG. Different map with ewg?
Or does it do itā€™s thing automatically.

Will go to a custom tune when the gurus figure it out.
From what terry told me, eww does not effect maps 1&2.

So for time being I bought a used JB4 and it appears to have the EWG - should I slap it on too then?(Even without E mix/flex)

I've been running Map 3 with only mod being a CAI which I doubt is doing much, if anything. For the last two fill ups been adding 2-3 gal of E85 using an app to calculate plus the Supra Connect app so I could get close to E30. I tested the E85 and it was running 90% ethanol. I have the EWG ordered. Acceleration seems better running E30 but I have no verifiable proof yet.

I'd say Map 2 or 3 according to this info over on N54tech.

I'm currently on an E30 blend and running Map 4, tomorrow I'll be going to Map 5 to get some logs for Terry to look at. I have the JB4 and EWG, but no other mods. I started on Map 3 with 93 Octane, send Terry logs, he said good to go to E30 on Map 3, then we went to Map 4, now we're going to Map 5. I'm not sure Map 4 is much better performance wise than 3, but Terry said the logs were better for 4. We'll see tomorrow how Map 5 ends up!

If you read over on the b58 page over there. He is recommending the most current firmware. 18. They have changed and added stuff that is allowing more boost with out EWG. He also says that map 3 sometimes is better than 4 or 5. But your correct in running logs and seeing what works for you. I am way over my stock tires as to being able to put down power. No more logs until I get some Fat toyo on her.

I am currently running firmware 18. I went up to 285's in the rear, but still not enough, they break loose all over the place!

Was running map 2 with 93 octane, went to 3 using EWG and v18, stayed with that map after installing the catted Powerneedy DP. Runs good, couple hundred miles and no codes yet.
