Yup, with a note on the order for exposed hardware and a groove to tuck/ziptie the boot into.

I believe otherwise the shift knob would screw down fully over the adapter and there'd be nowhere to tuck the boot.

For those of you who got the slammer from Raceseng, how's the shift feel? Kinda worried some are mentioning that it might be best not to go over 400-500g mark.
If you could share your thoughts, it would be much appreciated.
Planning to order one very soon.
I had the slammer and it felt amazing! The weight didn’t take away from the feel at all in my opinion. I ended up switching to the contour because I liked the shape better.

I actually have my translucent red slammer for sale still. If you want it, message me and we can work out a deal.

Here’s a link to my post of it for sale:

here is what it looks like installed in my car:

Damn I might have to go this route, I was considering playing with a lathewerk BMW style knob and the stock boot.

I noticed in your photo, the lever is threaded. So does Lathewerks provide a threaded adapter that tightens down to the stock lever using the set screws, and the shift boot gets zip tied to that, and knob screwed on top?

Sorry if this is a stupid question lool

Correct, the BMW knob comes with the brass adapter which has 4 set screws on the base.

I did notice the adapter doesn't slide over the small nub/ring that the original shift knob locked on to, so it could probably be made to slide a little further down on the lever than I have it if you made some modifications.

Just for shits and grins, I ordered a Speed Dawg billiard style non weighted shift knob because they’re only like $65. I’ve also many times in the past done these because they are kinda old school. It was okay, perfectly fine I suppose. I just know one was $300 and one was just $65 and it almost makes me feel I’d be a fool to not just leave the cheap one on my desk as a paperweight.

it’s just cool that the shift knob matches my Mikan Blast’s shade of orange quite well.

I'm loving this Receseng Traction shifter. The weight is perfect at .8 lbs. The rubber on this one isn't supposed to get hot in the sun. I had one on my Civic SI and it worked as advertised.

I used a regular zip tie which causes a bit of a lump behind the collar - mistakes were made with the shift boot installation.. But if you follow the directions (which I obviously didn't do) it will be clean.

I may also buy this one in White without the engraving because I know where the gears are.

Hi all, was wondering if those with the Black Forest Industries shift knob could chip in their .02 cents on how they like it? I really wanna get this knob for my ‘24 but not sure if it’s enough of a difference compared to stock? Raceseng seems a lot heavier (albeit worse design imo) from their description.

I'm curious too, but I doubt the feel in shift would be better. The stock shift knob is 200 gm vs the BFI 205 gms. I'm looking for something slightly heavier, but not so heavy the shift feel becomes vague.

I did get a confirmation from Billetworkz they will be making a titanium version of their Fusion knob (steel version = 500 gm).

They didn't mention how heavy the titanium version will be, but their titanium shift knobs tend to be about 55% of the weight of the steel versions. If that's true then the titanium Fusion would be approximately 275 gm.

Personally Im not a fan of any accessory that prioritises their brand logo as part of the design. I'm not interested in an aesthetic mod that shouts the brand name at me esp in this case. Leather is also not an optimal shift knob material with regards to wear, and general contamination from the users hand.

This. The Black Forest Industries gear looks OK except for their incessant branding. Also, their drop in shift pattern coin (at additional cost) looks pretty ordinary.

Finally got around to fitting this yesterday. I've never really liked the original collar on the Raceseng shift knob conversion and the fact it adds about 1/4" to the height of the shifter itself. The boot retention system they use is a bit too bulky for me so I machined a new adaptor to reduce the height of the new knob and also machined up a Titanium collar. So it's now about 6mm or 1/4 inch below the std shift knob height.
I also made a tool to remove the original shift knob without just yanking it off like a gorilla. Clamp it on the shaft and a flat bladed screwdriver on each side and it ops off easy peasy.

Installed a BFI Alcantara shift boot to match my Alcantara interior. Stayed with the silver stitching to match the rest of the car.

Shift knob is from Billetwerkz. Shifting feels like a night and day difference with a heavier knob.
