does the amp come with its own adjustable Bass knob?

Has anyone simply upgraded their OEM subs with "Bavsound" subs? claim thats all you have to do, and you'll get much more Bass.

iirc someone on the bimmer forums measured the Bavsound subs vs stock in their Z4 and the Bavsounds frequency response was notably worse than stock.

It did come with a bass knob, but I didn't use it.

I’ll be getting it installed soon. I got the sub/amp combo for $120 off.

You can use a bass knob to adjust the sub gaines more independently.

The last system I had, was 2 12’s used 600w AMP and it was overkill for my dodge dart. 10” Sub on 400W in this small cabin may actually be too much.

The accuracy of the sealed box should be pretty good. I learned that the reason the HK mid-base may be sealed is to make the bass more accurate and less boomie.

After I tuned the audio the sound was pretty good even without a sub.

if you wanted you can go with these but they require an AMP.

I thought I'd contribute a pic of my install. Not the prettiest, but it is removable and I do retain most of my storage space. I can still carry a set of golf clubs in the back. IMHO the mod adding the ports are fine for most types of music, but occasionally, I want to listen to booming bass and that's when the stock subs fall short even with the mod. That's when you do need another amp and sub. I'm a little partial to JLs, they've been my goto subs for the last 30 years. The bass is now is more than enough for me, especially in a small cabin and is still clean sounding.

I did this install it worked very well. This is great bass response. The subwoofer bangs too hard in all honestly for this cabin size.

Hoping this will help other members out. Well I tried the standard port addition upgrade without much success. I wanted a subwoofer that could hit hard and loud,, not break the bank, doesn’t take up too much space and could be easily removed for track days. So I did some research, spent $350 and 4 hours and can’t believe how amazing this subwoofer sounds. Very easy to duplicate and everything came from Amazon. I used Velcro to hold the box and amp in place.
