If Toyota/BMW gets enough repairs/parts that failed under similar circumstances, their engineers would take look at those failed parts and decide if parts need to be replaced with updated parts.
100% absolutely not true. The injectors on my 2013 328i failed around 81,000 miles. Took out my catalytic converter also, as it dumped fuel and burnt it out. Dealership refused warranty work. They were on their 6th iteration of the injector. Did I mention this was around the3.5-4 year mark of ownership? It’s a know issue/problem that toon 6-7 iterations to stop, they never issued a recall and refused warranty work.

Took Toyota roughly 5 years to acknowledge and recall valve spring issue. That's almost Supra lifetime lol. Which the recall ended up being a massive fuck up for many due to untrained or whatever techs applying too much lube like it's your birthday.. I had my recall done when shop insisted they do a good job. Have it in writing that if engine fails in the next x miles they're to blame. Luckily didn't. So, don't hold your breath. How many 458 Ferraris burned up before they acknowledged a darn adhesive or the fuel pump 360, 430, etc..

I'm still waiting to hear about the failure mode. What if it was the dual-mass flywheel that failed? Yes, still technically part of the clutch system, but they've been known to fail before on many different cars. Still though, that's the exception and not the rule.

I am sitting at about 2k miles. Did a spirited shift from 2nd to 3rd gear and thought I had mis shifted as the revs started going down and I was not in the 3rd. The more I think about it the more I believe this may be a symptom of this issue. No issues since and I take my time with deliberately shifting into gear.

No power mods.

Driving stick for 25 years on sports cars and this is definitely the most "unique" clutch pedal and gear shift.
for me it was always the 2-3 shift...

Since when are B58s a motor that "pops?" That's the reason I used to be an SR20 guy, and now moved to the B58. Both are extremely durable engines known to almost never blow up on their own accord.
this aged poorly, my buddies refraction a91 lost compression yesterday...jb4 93 car

This has been a somewhat common issue (few mentioned having something like this happen to them) with the manual as well. Both clutch and shifter malfunctions are unacceptable for the Supra to have. Just figured I’d share this for the peeps here as I know i saw the info mentioned in another thread without any photos or videos.

this happened to be 5 times and the after one good whack it has been good since
