The placebo relates to the perceived effect, not the physicality of the change. Take the CDV delete, for example: The CDV is physically removed but does it actually make the car better to drive? After a few months living with it deleted, it's much of a muchness.Not sure how this can be be called a "placebo" the clutch stop physically reduces the total amount of clutch pedal travel, that's not a placebo. Now whether or not you like the reduced travel, that's very subjective.
