Just did the last round of changes prior to my 1st track weekend with the car coming up next weekend.
Put the Ti lug bolts on the car earlier in the week. Looks nice with the wheels, happy with this for now. I'll get to the studs eventually. Will not be running these at the track.
Had this interior carbon fiber sticker thing for the vent laying around for awhile I finally installed. Not really into modding the interior but this bmw interior is pretty bland. Looks nice and oem. Only other mod I'll do with the interior is a different steering wheel at some point, stock one is too skinny for my hands.
Bought a tow hook because it looks nice. Need to get one for the rear as well for track events.
Out with the stock dust pads, new dusters going in. Pretty annoying that they're glued in there. I was able to get them free by using the hooked needle nose pliers under the metal tabs and prying upwards. Didn't take too much force to get them to break free. Really nice having 4 pot brembos again. Pad swaps are so easy when you don't have to pull the caliper. If anyone wants the stock pads let me know, 530 miles with 0 hard braking events.
Changed the oil with some motul 5w-40. Will probably do a couple of track weekends with it then change it again and send the oil for analysis to see how long I can go.
Went out to my favorite spot for data logging, bedding pads, or just driving a car hard. Bed in the pads and pushed the car a bit for the first time, even launched it a few times. Very different experience from my s4, fun car even at stock power. New pads feel great once they're up to temp, bit squishy when cold. After bedding in the pads the wheels are completely coated in dust and so is the side of the car. Stuff is no joke. Been a long time since I was running track pads, forgot how bad the dust is. I'll be swapping to hawk hps 5.0 pads between track events. These wheels had just been cleaned a few hours prior to this pic.
.
Ready to have fun at the track. Next round of mods will be a Wagner IM which is on its way and a DME unlock and tune.
