Weather finally cleared out and I took the car for a test drive. Didn't make it 10 feet without a problem, passenger side rear strut is defective/blown. Just my luck.

Pulled the defective damper this afternoon and it is in fact blown. Had no problem compressing it by hand after pulling it out. Never thought to check this before installing. At least everyone involved is trying to expedite getting this resolved asap. Shipping it out to MCS tomorrow.

I'd be pretty upset - MCS is expensive and supposed to be quality.

More disappointed than anything. This is also eating up valuable testing time as I have a lot of mods going in before track season starts up again in mid September.

MCS turned that blown damper around quickly and I got it back last night and installed this morning. Took the car for a long drive today, felt good to drive it again, its been sitting for the last 2 months due to weather, traveling, and broken parts. Ride quality is much better with the MCS coilovers in even if it is noticeably stiffer. I have always hated the way bmw's ride, this car is no exception. Rides a lot like my S4 does now, just stiffer and I love the way that car rides. Feels fantastic at highway speeds, can't wait to get it on track. Setup makes some noise at lower speeds, nothing at highway speeds. Mostly the dampers are noisy. I'll put some more miles on it this week, adjust the ride height a little bit this weekend and call it good until I get the verkline arms in.

Also, I installed the Rapid Designs rear diff brace earlier this week. Really nice part, love the quality and the looks. Makes a noticeable difference with shifts too and it was super easy to install with the Verus scoop.

MCS customer support has been outstanding for me over the years. Def a nice refreshing difference from the rest of the trash industry.

MCS do ride incredible well. Wait until you track and launch off some curbs like they are nothing.

Sort of got started with the fuel system this afternoon. Anyone that has done the install of the dorch zeitronix eca know what connectors and pins I need to pull from the bcm to splice their harness in? Their instructions look to be for a different car or gen of b58. I can ask them but I don't think I'm getting a response until next week.

Ground, Power, Can High, Can Low.

Twisted pair is easy to find. Passenger side footwell on the right side behind the plastic trim. Or at the DME in the engine bay.

Should have just bought the MHD kit. Easy peasy install.

yeah, hindsight should have looked at the install before buying. I would absolutely have bought the mhd kit.

Fuel system is pretty much done, not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Really liking how easy this car is to work on. Torque sequence on the rails and injectors was annoying... I did give up on the dorch eca harness and ordered the MHD harness instead. I would have spent the day trying to figure it out and working under the dash on wiring projects is far from my favorite thing to do. I'll flash the car tomorrow and get it running. Pretty sure I can flash the flex fuel map without the eca plugged in. Verkline arms up next.
