So I just got back from getting an alignment done (third party) besides the fact that pretty much every measurement was out of whack. After the tech gave the car back to me he informed me pretty much every malfunction came on the infotainment system and the steering wheel is a bit off center. Has anyone else had this issue post alignment? I'm guessing/hoping I have to take it to the dealer to recalibrate a few things..

I'm confused, nobody has the issue I'm describing in those posts.
My bad. Tried to reply while I'm busy. They're recommended alignment settings. Your's didn't look right. Just pointing that out. Don't have solution for error messages. I'd reset them turn off car. Wait turn on...

someone hit a sensor while working on it. If no real damage it may reset. otherwise you need to see what they did. I have track aligned mine twice so far with zero issues.

edit: any competent shop should be able to keep wheel straight. you loosen one and turn another, then tighten first.

Wow, I would never go back to that third party shop if they can’t even get the alignment close to spec.

Errors look like a sensor issue. Not sure if the ride height sensor being disconnected can cause those errors but it’s one of the most common sensors that either people either forget to reconnect or break. I would check all sensors and wires.

Yea.. this was Tire Kingdom, a brand new location mind you with modern equipment. The tech was telling me because my power steering is electronic, he wasn't able to center it for one reason or another. I'm going to drive around for a bit and see if the warning indicators go off at least.

Baloney. I'd ask for money back. It literally take 30 secs to center the steering.

We'll see what happens tomorrow, they'll look at it again in the morning. Lights didn't go off after the drive. From what I've briefly researched on BMW forums, it sounds like the malfunction notifications are coming on due to the position of the steering wheel. 6 out of the 7 warnings are Driver Assist related, the 7th is a chassis error.

Well if they can't figure it out I hope they pay to get it fixed.

All is well now, initially I thought the tech just forgot to reset the steering angle sensor. He couldn't do it anyway because for some reason the Hunter systems didn't recognize my car. He was able to center the steering wheel, took it for a test drive, upon taking a U-turn all the notifications disappeared. Disaster averted.

Is this a calibration issue after all? I'm getting similar codes right now. Went to what I thought was a reputable shop and now I'm back to a Toyota Service center asking for $250 diagnostic... shouldn't this be covered under warranty? A tire alignment shouldn't cause such a headache and a dent to a wallet.

Upload your codes but yes there is a high likelihood the shop did not do a steering angle sensor reset. I installed all new arms on the car all the way around and had similar errors to what's seen in post 1. The install did throw all my alignment specs out of wack so this was expected. After my shop aligned it and did the SAS reset the car no longer had messages when I picked it up and hasn't since.

Yes that's what I read up on with the SAS sensor, they didn't even have an OBDII reader that worked with my vehicle :/

Here are the codes I had after I had to buy a BimmerLink to read them myself

Had this issue when I got coilovers installed.

Months before, I had an ebay steering wheel installed. It was off centered just a bit so I had an alignment done to center it.

Then I got my KW DDC coilovers installed, steering wheel was straight, everything was good then 15 miles later those warnings came on. Went back a week later at the same shop for my alignment appointment and they said they didn't have the specs or capability to reset my steering angle sensor on their Hunter rack. At the time it was a new 2023 MT, so they didn't have the update for it yet. Went to another alignment shop and they said the same thing.

The old manual method for BMWs where you turn your wheel to full lock side to side to calibrate the SAS doesn't work on Supras. Using the OBD2 readers and what not also could not reset the steering angle sensor either. Didn't wanna take it into the dealer since I had a few mods and I knew I'd have to pay a lot for it.

I did some research and downloaded Toyota Techstream Lite, paid for a 2 day sub which was like $70, it got me access to Toyota ISTA. I used ISTA to set my steering angle sensor as well as my parking sensor and all of the warnings went away and my sensors were working again. Not sure if I needed to calibrate the parking sensors but I did it anyway.

My theory is because my steering wheel was off centered originally and with the new coilovers and alignment settings, the steering wheel sensor and the on board lane camera were out of sync, which caused my parking and side sensors to go out of whack and disable themselves. I could totally be wrong of course. I think spending more time on the alignment settings would have fixed it eventually, but that would have cost more money than the Techstream sub. Haven't had an issue since then and this was late 2023.
