AMS dyno’d it at 356 to the wheels. That’s about an 11% drivetrain loss. It has no chance against the 2021 Supra stock for stock.

Looking closer now, even compared to a 2020, the Supra still makes 50-60 more whp for about 4000 RPMs worth. And the Torque curve, no contest.

Granted, I was just basing my comment off the results of one video. Time will tell, but if the Z has a trap speed within 1 mph of the Supra and it's a heavier car too, then I think the power numbers are going to end being pretty close.

Supra killer it is not, but if I could barely squeeze by paying $40k for a car, it would still be on my list. I’d pick it over a 2.0 Supra I think, especially the younger, magazine racer, version of me. You know, the me that was beyond belief excited to have bought a brand new 2011 WRX hatch with 265hp. Equally excited to have quad exhaust tips And could just make the $250 a month car payment work. That guy also loved the nismo 350z and would have loved a 370z, but they were just a little too expensive. The 58k for a Supra would have been unobtanium even though I would have loved it if it existed Back then.

We all know the internet is full of dummies. There’s no car to buy that would get 100% of people to agree on the purchase, especially in the performance car world. Roll up in a Pagani and some dumbass will start talking about how whatever version of a Camaro is faster. You know the type of guy, the one where whatever they’re driving is the fastest thing on the planet, the type of idiot that is into quad tip exhausts on 4cyl.

Just the internet being the internet.
Actually the "Chief Product Specialist" of the Z, Hiroshi Tamura, mentioned the Supra multiple times when discussing the development of the Z over the past few years.
"If Supra is 4 seconds, we’re probably 4 seconds. We are heavier than them, with slightly bigger power. So I think it should be almost the same."

Alfonso Abaisa, SVP Global Design for Nissan mentioned pricing the Z well under the Supra and how they were eager to come to market with the manual since the Supra didn't have it.

Nissan also benchmarked the Z against the Supra in testing, even being spotted testing both together, also with an M2.

Heck, a lot of dealerships already have pages on their websites comparing the Z and Supra, and frequently mention how it has more horsepower, etc, and I wouldn't be surprised if salesmen are given sell sheets to market the Z as better, faster, etc. than the Supra.

I actually respected how Toyota frequently mentioned how they benchmarked the Supra against the Cayman. Regardless, it's readily apparent that Nissan and the Z have the Supra in their crosshairs, not a very crowded segment to have much other competition to aim for.

Nissan and their typical B.S., next they'll probably say some nonsense like a car's weight acts exactly the same as downforce, therefore their Z can corner faster than the GR Supra because it is heavier than the GR Supra lol. Btw this is a reference to what Nissan has said before when asked why their R35 GT-R is so heavy.

Wow! This video was super embarrassing. Imagine that this is your job and getting so many things wrong on both cars... Even after reviews have hit the streets.

Wow… when clickbait like this exists and people still have to ask why some members here feel the need to defend the Supra against the Nissan.

Hey Ideal Cars guy. What are you?

I’m barely 3 min in and I already see so many mistakes. Optional wing? The mt is technically still a bmw if you strip away the exterior how does a zf vs a manual change that? This guy is fucking retarded

I made the mistake of watching this video out of boredom and the amount of misinformation was through the roof. I absolutely lost it at the 3.5 second 0-60 for the Z claim
