Overheating on track - looking for solution for 2-port engine

Hey,
I have a problem with overheating on track. After 1 hard lap I hit over 280F on oil.
Current setup: 495hp, 750nm (custom map based on MHD), max cooling mode. Supporting mods: bigger water cooler, middle mounted engine oil cooler.
What I have heard is that 2-port engines tends to overheat but 6-port not. Unfortuantely I have the 2-port one.
One of tuners told me that methanol injection into charge pipe would solve the problem. I have also seen somebody put water spray into intercooler.
Do you have any proven solutions? I have already put a lot of money into coolers but it gave almost no result.

I cannot understand how reducing the intake temps will have a significant impact on engine oil temps.

It seems your "Max cooling" mode is not working. Try to reflash the tune and make sure it is actually activated.

What sort of temps do you see in normal driving conditions?

Since, you already have bigger water coolers and an engine oil cooler as well, perhaps hood vents would make some difference.

Is it possible that your engine heat management module is not working properly?

I mean 280 is high but not uncommon, and something I would expect to hit eventually after a long session.
If it's not a max cooling config issue, you could try another oil cooler. I'm not sure which kit you have, but the Verus setup uses a PWR heat exchanger. It replaces one of the auxiliary radiators and deletes the OEM water2oil heat exchanger, so you'll dump less heat into the coolant loop.

like hasan mentioned hood vents will help overall. A catless downpipe would relieve some backpressure and less radiant heat in the engine bay. Don't bother buying an aftermarket heat exchanger.
IAT's are the usual........... Water/meth, intake manifold or a larger turbo running within its efficiency island. The jury's still out on Interchillers.

In normal conditions oil temp is around 200f. Even when pushig it on highwaygoing 100mph +.
I have hood vent ready to be mounted so maybe it will change something but I doubt in radical change

I have catless downpipe. Oil cooler is custom work but it also elminates oem water2oil heat exchanger

Yea, forgot all oil cooler kits need the coolant2oil delete. When you say "middle mounted" I'm assuming you mean stacked Infront of the high temp heat exchanger, and not like this?

It would be helpful to see how the oil cooler is mounted and what sort of shroud, if any, you have around it? Do you have an oil thermostat in there?

Does your oil cooler have an efficient exit path for the hot air?

Do you have a very aggressive anti-lag setup in your tune?

The radiator is mounted in front of the intercooler on the front belt. It measures 15x30 cm and takes up about half of the center air intake in the bumper. The kit looked like the one from Verus—a radiator, two hoses, and a heat exchanger. There are two water radiators in the wheel wells.

280F is pretty typical for b58’s… I still can get up to 300F with the verus oil cooler.

running meth would help lower your IAT’s keeping your timing advanced which would help lower cylinder temps, so maybe that’s where your tuner is coming from. Ethanol would help cylinder temps as well, but I haven’t seen that help too much with oil temps.

what are your coolant and IAT temps? And what ambient temps are you tracking in?

Could you provide a source on where you heard 2 ports overheat more? I would like to discredit the source, rather than shoot the messenger.

On normal road usage (pull on 3 and 4 gear from 3000 up to 6500rpm) everything seems to be okey. On the photo you can see celcius so peak IAT on 4 gear pull was 113F, and oil 200F.
Płyn chłodniczy means coolant and olej means Oil

Usually here in Poland in summer we have temperature of 75-80F.

Generally going to E30-E40 blend doesn't help temps over all. Even E85 doesn't really change much unless you're injecting it like meth in the charge pipe.

Yes, it lowers the combustion chamber temp by a bit (not much though) and you'll see EGT's drop by 150ish degrees F if you're just running E85 vs pump gas.

The main reason it doesn't help is as soon as people run ethanol blends, they also up the boost and timing to take advantage of the power potential. Power equates to heat, and if you're making more power it doesn't matter what fuel is going in (generally at least), you're going to make more heat.

So no, it won't help in any measurable way here, and having some sort of data log while on track (as previously mentioned) is going to be the best way to figure out what's up. There are lots of 2 port cars out there running mostly stock components on track at similar power levels. How quickly they reach a thermal limit, and which component is involved (IC, engine oil/coolant, etc) varies by car. But there's little help that can be given without some sort of hard data.
