I had both and while I can see why others might choose the auto....for me it was the manual that really did it for me. You won't hear me argue which is better for YOU...lol. Have fun. Drive a Supra.

Hahaha she's a keeper manTo keep this thread from getting too serious, here's a true story of my hot tempered wife:
At the end of a wild night in downtown Austin, my wife and I were walking a busy street when we saw a flashy C7 convertible blasting annoying music, driven by two trust-fund looking bros. It was 2 a.m., the bars were emptying, it was super crowded, and the noise was irritating my drunk wife (she being Korean has a bit of a temper). She shouted at them in the intersection, "Think you're cool in your loud Corvette? Bet it’s not even manual!" She stormed to the car, peeked inside, and yelled, "Ha! It’s an automatic! You got a small dick! Automatic, small dick! Automatic, small dick!" chanting it over, and over, at the top of her lungs. Dozens of bystanders roared with laughter, pointing at the bros, trapped in traffic with no escape. One of the craziest moments in the 9 years we've been together ??

Corvette comes to mindWhat else would you have bought for speed besides a Supra?
For me personally, cars that have more power than the Supra are also way too heavy and probably the only answer for me would have been Porsche 911 or maybe a 718 Cayman GTS
I’m glad we can agree on at least one thingOh no I'm poor
used plaids are going for like 40K ??I have no issue with evs, but I already have a supra. Not against that change. I'd love a lucid Sapphire just for the speed factor. But ain't lookin for a 200k+ car.
The only sick burn is the poor clutches you roasted in the previous cars you've owned.Sick burn
But there is truth to it. Last time I had a manual I was in a low population area with barely any traffic. Now I'm in the PNW and i might lose my mind in some of the traffic here. I lose my mind in the family car in traffic, haha. It's hard going from "country" to city traffic.I always roll my eyes when people whip out the “sticks suck in stop&go traffic” excuse.
LOLOne of the reasons I bought the Supra was that it is one of the few true sports cars with a ZF8.
LOLI live in a highly congested, plenty stop and go, phantom traffic comes outta nowhere city, so having a traffic-ok car that I enjoy as soon as I make it through was one of this purchase's main goals.
Umm.. clutches don't care about traffic if they are used properly... and your short trips to get take-out are likely far more damaging to the engine. Not having to worry about burning up my clutch while I'm stuck in crazy traffic also made me take this car everywhere I go, including buying takeout and the smallest excuse I can find to drive.
It's OK. Along with your other comments, this just confirms you have never actually been a manual driver. In my twenty years of being a manual driver I don't think I have ever been worried about being in traffic. Even in gridlock, I don't ever recall thinking, damn.. I wish I was in an auto. The lesson I learned with my previous car (S550 Mustang Mach 1 w/ the 6 spd Tremec - what a godly gearbox) is that you can only love your car so much if you can drive it anywhere care-free. In my case, it stresses me out when I worry about being stuck in random traffic before and after going for a drive on roads that are 1 hour+ from me.
Outside of the performance debate, it's just personal and feels. Y'all gotta stop circle jerking.
Not really. The fewer people drive manuals, the fewer they will produce. Not sure why automatic drivers don't see that driving a car that automatically changes its gears is just moving one step closer to a car that automatically drives you around. ?‍This civil war is unhealthy. We need to band together against the electric car.
