Auto people honest question, faster than who? I have admittedly never done organized racing but have done dozens of track days over the decades and at those we are all just trying to improve our own lap times and get more out of the car. It doesn’t really matter the starting point as it is about improving and getting more in tune with the car while driving better. Most of us want cars that are available to inputs and communicative in its outputs. If easier and faster is better why not just hire the circuit coaches to drive you around?

An ‘honest question’ that you’ve already decided to answer for folks.
Stop feeding the trolls.

After all the poop-posting some honesty come out, they are "aging", lazy, and want convenience over knee-pain inducing clutch pedals / remembering what gear their in. They want to pass the money-shifting, MT is our whole personality type of drivers with one hand clicking their paddle shifter and the other sipping on a coffee.

As I creep up in age, the novelty has worn off a bit. Most of my driving used to be in traffic. Now, it's barely any. Still, would choose the AT. Could I ever shift as fast as the AT, no. Do I now enjoy seeing mustang boy 1492492 try shifting and missing next to me while I pass drinking a coffee? Yes.

I guess, I see all sides. I love MT. Do I love the AT in this, yes. Am I getting old and lazy, and just want to be mash and be fast, yes. Will my next car be a MT, prob not. Will I buy some New Balances after the Supra, probably.
This is it. I think I'm in the same boat. I love manual still, but haven't missed it since making the change. Maybe it's age, maybe something else.
Stop kidding yourself like you've still got some love for the MT in you by letting us know how many miles MT miles are in your trophy case and how your next car doesn't even offer manual anyways. You've made your bed by choosing AT and the manufacturers have heard your preference by your wallet $. Stop trying to fight this troll fight when you've given up on MT years ago.

I drove my 86 15k miles a year all leisure, it was mt. I've had the Supra since 21 and have 10k~ miles.
Next car will be AT because all the cars I'm looking don't offer manual. That's if prices don't double like Porsches have. MSRP vs reality is insane for them.

Damn.
It used to be an ‘enthusiast’ community, now I guess it’s an ‘elitist’ community.

Man, for the time it took you to paraphrase everything we said, you'd be passed by like 6 of us in a AT sipping coffee.?

Right, we are aging, and some of us are still acting like we're seven making car noises in a parked car.

Stop kidding myself? LOL, ok clown. I don't have "love" for either. Not all of us are trying to fuck our cars like you. Besides you can't get pregnant sticking the shifter up your ass, but sounds like it's not stopping you from trying.

I didn't give up on MT, society did. High school brained shit posters have not, grats to you, kiddo. Toyota heard you had a tantrum, though and gave you what you wanted, yet you're still mad and cryin for some reason.

The only "engagement" you get from a mt is in shit posts like this one.

@Emspilot sounds like it from the way some of these kids are acting. Dude wants to go to war over a dying, slower tech while also chasing higher hp, lol.

I guess so.
I have, and have lived, a life. Been to war, been shot at. Loved, and raised children and a family. Life is more than a fucking car.
I “like” my car. I don’t “live” my car.
There’s more to life.

As far as I know, you can also shove the AT shifter up your ass too lol. I mean the MT knob is more gearthy at the top, but the AT might have a longer reach up there. All depends on what you prefer, just like the trans....

Nice that was actually a good witty response.

Three words: Lightning lap times. ?

Interestingly, despite the above link suggesting the MT is faster (as did another Japanese comparison which I don't have the link to handy), I haven't seen a shred of evidence to support the contention myth that the autospastic is actually faster. ?‍♂

I saw some Japanese YouTube where dude was .1 seconds behind the auto. But let's not pretend even a fraction of us are that good. Auto is our best bet at getting that claimed 0-60 | 1/4 mile times. And auto will be far more consistent too. Even the advertised numbers has the manual slightly behind the auto, iirc. Js.
