How about I put it another way: A shaved down monkey could drive an automatic fast; a manual, not so much.
Is the shaving for weight reduction? Why are you shaving the monkey?

But also, I thought that's what I was already saying. Auto = easy mode. MT = hard mode.

I’d love to take you up on it, on track šŸšŸ

I drive your manual and you drive my auto & see who’s quickest. We’ll both be grinning ear to ear during the process 😜

Please tell me you’re going to finally break the 1000 mile barrier on those sneakers and your car someday šŸ™šŸ¼

Also, how the hell is this thread 8 pages long…. WTF gives with this subject?!? :catfight:
Dude, that's my question. We hijacked a thread so I carried it over in case they wanted to finish on a dedicated thread. This thing blew up. Good times, though, unlike manual track times. Jkjk

manuals are for people that want to whack off their car to drive it

autos are for people that want to whack off themselves while their car drives for them

which way, "car enthusiast"?
Nah, manuals just edge harder cause they can't finish as fast...which again, auto is faster.

Here let me help you out, Lewis Hamilton. Work smarter not harder :p.
In his defense, I did quote the pros on auto vs manual. Surprise, surprise, they all said suck it up auto is the future, faster and allows them to focus on time and driving (smarter not harder).

I also make the point that most pro races are auto...as in no stick shifter+ pedal. Paddles/sequential might as well be auto.

Another point I forgot, ppl chase hp then demand a manual which slows most us down, wasting some of that hp. Kinda contradictory. Granted it's not a ton of difference, but a difference nonetheless.

I carry a bottle of lube in the glove box at all times.
I keep a liter of 10W-30 so it doesn't just run down the shaft of the shifter.

Anyone have any suggestions on the correct oil for a better 'engagement'?

Costco has good prices on canola oil in bulk. I heard that makes shifting faster and easier on the engine

Please be advised that now a days us MT guys buy sketchers. We have outgrown the New Balance.
If you can’t work the clutch in Crocs you’re not a real driver.

Go ahead and use your easy driving NB’s and Sketchers to roll up to the church parking lot on Sundays. I’ll be slamming it on the track in my SpongeBob Crocs.

It's funny when guys who don't even know how to do an oil change argue about cars.
Ha you mean about 95% of owners.
Auto or manual pick your favourite. I like a manual personally in every way except in a DD and even then if I could only have 1 car I'd take the manual.
I can tell you all one thing and that is unless launching the car from a standstill or racing people at the lights is a priority for you the Manual version would be a significantly more enjoyable car with the taller auto diff ratio. The engine is a torque monster and can easily pull a taller diff ratio making freeway cruising more leisurely rpm wise and better fuel economy and make first gear much more useable in regards to using the car as a "sport" car.
I'm not sure how fitting the taller ratio would affect "some" of the electronic dynamic controls though. The TC would be fine but the rev match would be affected for sure. Not sure about the diff lock logic and diff clutch control.
