The funny thing is, at my last track day, I was the only MT MKV, and I routinely passed the auto guys lol. The sound of silence when they were behind me though? Music to my ears ?

A silly anecdote; you could pass someone in a GT3 Rs who's a newbie or not really trying on a track, and I guess that would mean your slow edition Supra is faster hmm. We all know if you had god's chosen powertrain your times would be even better.

God’s chosen powertrain would be an Electric Motor. We’ll both get beaten by a lady in her bone stock fugly Tesla, but I’ll still have the most enjoyable time out of all 3 lol

Saw the title of this thread and it has met all of my low expectations.

As a manual driver for 15 years and tracking my s2000 for 10 of them, I don't understand why you would spend close to 60k on an inferior transmission. The zf8 is nothing short of "fucking amazing". Remind me again of what the definition of the word supra is.

I'm happy for those that like the auto but I must admit to seeing Supras around since they were released and thinking "man they are nice, pity they're an auto though" As soon as I heard the manual version was coming I went straight down and organised a test drive in the only car that was available a second hand auto and immediately ordered mine.
I thought the auto was damn good and therefore felt the manual would be even more to my liking and thats the way it's turned out. Thats just me though. I saw a nice Cobra replica on the road the other day and naturally was a little bit excited then I heard it move off and the distinctive auto sound and thought "what a waste" and " who the hell would put an auto in one of those"
No right or wrong just preferences and perceptions.
