Less than expected dyno results.

Got the car dynod today after getting a JB4 installed on the map 1 configuration, and disappointingly it only pushed 352 whp on a 5th gear pull, and 344 on a 4th gear pull.

For reference I'm running a catless downpipe, cold air intake and the jb4 on map 1. I was expecting somewhere in the mid 400's but results showing less than advertised for a stock supra surprised me.

Unsure if there's something I did wrong or I had my expectations to high, or if anyone else has also had a dyno result similar to this after installation of modifications.

Yes we were in dyno mode on the car as well as sport mode. Any advice would be appreciated or things to check to see why the results might be lower would be awesome.

It's always best to get a baseline on the same dyno. My 2001 Corvette dynoed 315 (stock) and 328 with CAI and Borla cat-back on a Dynojet. Torque was 352 lbs-ft.
Factory rating was 350 at the engine.

Dynos are just tools and can be manipulated and effected by a multitude of things. As others said you should dyno stock then dyno with the mods this way you see the actual gains of the parts vs chasing numbers

Looks like 2023 according to his previous posts.

OP - just curious, do you feel like the car got faster after the JB4 install? If so, then be happy! If it felt the same or feels slower, it might be best to consult a tuner to help you pinpoint what to do next.

I’m sure you could also try another Dyno (or another dynojet even) at another shop and see if the numbers make you happier?

A better gains metric IMO is how the car accelerates, the mph at the end of an 1/8 or 1/4 mile pass is better evidence of hp changes than a dyno pull without baseline numbers. If you have access to a dragy you don't even need a drag strip.

As previously mentioned dynos are better thought of as a tuning and diagnostic tool, not to make you feel better about how much money you just spent on your car.
