Maybe there's a setting in the infotainment screen?

The only reason I say this is I have never experienced auto braking in my '22. I have had the red alert popup on the HUD a few times, but it never braked for me... maybe I have it turned off? (I know I never made any changes to this in bimmercode so thats why I'm saying maybe its in the iDrive).
you can change the pedestrian cross traffic setting to late, etc but cant turn this off in infotainment. Im confident that there is a way in expert mode in bimmercode but no one knows, or is telling if they do know. Hard because in expert mode some of the changes are written as a numerical code so unless you know exactly what that code stands for you are playing a dangerous guessing game. And, even if it were listed in plain sight I dont speak or read German lol

Yes everything can be adjust in iDrive menu and is explained in video but apparently that isn't contributing to this thread.

Oh and once you setup Customization menu it starts every time like that. Light stays Orange.

my question is (I already searched on here as well as google and other bimmer forums) is there a way to program out the automatic braking in bimmercode? The bimmercode guide here on the forum didnt have it listed when i downloaded it and combed through it
Hmm.. maybe its region specific as I have had the red pop-up appear but I have never had the car auto-brake for me, thankfully. Maybe double check your safety settings in iDrive. I know I haven't coded this out.. wait, is this an automatic thing, because of the additional radar the manual's are not equipped with?

Not sure, but my current car that this happened to is a manual.

I haven't used BimmerCode in a long time, came back to it to adjust something but it looks dumbed down:

Any way to get the regular menu back that has things like body domain controller, etc..

I'm not going to pretend I understand coding and electronics of our cars. This may be a stupid question is there a way to code it so that accessory power doesn't turn on until you start the car or press the button on the center console? As it stands everything powers on once you unlock the door.

If the car isn’t saving the lane assist setting try to activate the checkbox and deactivate it a second time. Should work. It’s a bug in the software on the 2019 model.

The emergency breaking system isn’t designed to break for you, it’s designed to prevent you or pedestrians from getting killed.
And it works.

Not sure who decided it would be a good idea to flood the sheet with a Chinese translation without formatting - In any case it has been deleted. ?‍♂

Anyone know the code to enable the switching between auto, parking, or off lights while driving? Our cars won't let us after exceeding 15mph...

Stumbled on a way to reduce the ASD volume via the Z4 expert settings.

I have an MT with the Dinan intake and catback. Usually would just run with ASD off because of the horrible booming drone in sport mode.

I coded this quieter version of ASD that changes the volume/Power Class from OL to ML and have been loving the results. This gets rid of the loud droning at idle that the stock ASD does and it doesn’t drone at highway speeds either. Instead you get some mild ASD effects at lower speeds and it just blends into the sounds from the Dinan kit under throttle.

The settings I changed under the Z4 ASD Expert Mode:

Model Range: J29wB58ML_MT
Power Class: ML

That’s it! Leave the other settings at their default.

Does anyone know if you can code to display the oil temp on startup everytime instead of having to go through the hidden menu for it?

Stumbled on a way to keep the exhaust flap open without pulling the fuse.

While poking around in the DME parameters, I came across this one:

3020 BSU_RANGE – AKR_Variante
Label: CodVar_stAKR
Comment:
CP180088 Exhaust flap control (AKR)
  • 0x00 – Variant 0 (Default)
  • 0x01 – Variant 1
  • 0x02 – Variant 2
  • 0x03 – Variant 3
My car was set to Variant 0 by default, and with that setting, the flaps only open after the engine reaches a certain temperature. Once I changed it to Variant 2, things got interesting — even though the flap still stays closed on cold start, the moment I touch the throttle (even slightly), I can hear it open right away.

It seems like anything above the default makes the DME (ECU) more eager to open the flap sooner or at lighter throttle inputs.

This might behave differently depending on the market. From what I know, US models already have flap control integrated with the drive modes (Comfort/Sport), so you guys might be able to keep it open even sooner — for example, when it’s in Sport or Sport+ mode.

If anyone in the US can check what their default AKR_Variante value is and report back, it’d be cool to compare how the DME handles this across regions.

Don’t have expert mode on DME.
