Has anyone messed with the "custom launch control" "set torque launch" and "override brake boost" options? Are these new options? Didnt see them before. Wondering if any tips/recommendations. On e50 dp tune, thanks!

Yep. Running a custom 93 tune on the JB4 and xHP stage 3. It all does fine together. I can't think of anything tune/JB4-related that really wouldn't work well with xHP...
Does it matter which is installed first?

Stage 3 xHP tune took my 60-130 from a 8.60 to a 8.27. Thats about what id expect, not a second and a half lol. Though i did almost have a full tank of fuel on the 8.27 run, i dont recall what i did back on the 8.60 run, that was months ago, but with in a degree for temp DA almost the same and the exact same place on the road, since its close by, its not valid because of the decline at the end, but its good for testing as no one is around
What kinda power/mods net the 8.27? I'm contemplating snagging xhp. Just turned the car up a bit. Really hoping to hit a 7.9 or something.

Where are all the dragy time for this mod before and after?!

I've been very happy with these settings. Sport manual driving is fun, nothing too aggressive (even the 3-2 downshift has been tamed), and I can drive around in D-Auto without bogging to shit, I haven't changed these settings in so long, it's been great.

Am I crazy or is the stage 2 8th gear non-existent in sport-auto mode? I was chilling at like 95 mph and the engine was happily buzzing away in 7th gear and wouldn't shift. this is without shift point adjustment for that mode.

I'm using stage 2 and don't recall if I've ever hit 8th gear in sport mode, if I want it I just slap it into manual.

I'm not sure about 95 but the stock map wouldn't be in 8th at 75-80 IIRC

Subjectively faster isn’t exactly what sells for me. I’m not sure if xhp is claiming any shift speeds publicly, or if anyone managed to record actual times; I’d like to be informed on either.

40-140 is where these cars really shine. Some people record 60-120 but there’s another gear change in a proper 40-140 roll, hence why this tune is even more useful
I have read that default shift times for ZF-8 is 200ms (0.2 seconds). I wrote an email to xHP asking about the ZF-8 shift times after the flash. I was told:
'The shift time depends on many factors like engine speed, actual load, torque, etc.
So there is no fixed shift time.
Nevertheless, we are cutting the shift time at WOT shifts by about 50ms.'

The answer came from xHP Mapping Engineer.

Personally, I really enjoy the xHP flash.

Purchased, installed and completed the run-in-miles using Stage 2 v1.1. Hands down one of the best upgrades. Transforms the car. The car should've come this way. It shifts fast and smooth with much better precision. It's no longer lazy like it is on the stock tune. Super responsive. I've made a few adjustments that seem to work really well for how I use my car.

Having a usable D mode is tits. I'm running a tweaked version of what @Xproplayer posted for my D-Mode shift points and my God the car finally has a normal driving D-Mode. No more laboring the engine going 40mph in 8th.

S-Mode I applied the built-in "relaxed" shift logic which really tones down some of the aggressiveness that can make S-Mode annoying when just trying to cruise around. You know, the annoying 6k revs to downshift into 2nd all the time; minimized dramatically with this setting. What's cool is you still maintain all the characteristics of Sport Mode when you lay into the throttle. Win win.

Turned off kick down
Set Shift Speeds: Normal=Medium, Medium=Fast, Fast=Fast
Max RPM lowered: S-Mode & D-Mode = 1st-5900, 2nd-5900, 3rd-7th set to 6000, 8th set 6900. Manual mode is set to 6200 for all gears.
Traction Reduction set to RWD
Add the gear indicator for S-Mode and D-mode

Hopes this helps others get theirs dialed in.
Love this! Thank you for sharing.

@Shelby Miles , have you played with the Ignition-Cut Shifting settings at all?

update again, tried going deeper and deeper negative with the upshift and downshift sliders in sport mode. Trying to figure out when the heck 8th was intended to be used.

I went so far as taking the 7-to-8 sliders all the way to -50%, the car still wouldn't shift to 8th gear even when I was hanging out at 115 mph and completely lifted. car just coasted down and stayed in 7th.

My only other thought is that there's some sort of 8-to-7 deadlock that is preventing it.

As a follow-up to my previous post about the xHP shift times at WOT, I asked xHP the following question:

Q: At wide open throttle, does Map 3 shift quicker than Map 2 and Map 1? If so, how much faster on the average?
A: Yes, the maps gradually shift faster. The difference is hard to tell because each transmission is different but the regular stage 1 shifts between 180-200ms and with stage 3 its close to 100ms.

This is enough data for me to flash the TCU. Also, you can play with Torque vs Slip values to get better 1/4 times, according to a video Kies Motorsports published. The video shown here is done with BMW.
