I used the entire bag from Amazon
But no foam
I also have aftermarket Integral Audio subs which I'm sure made the biggest difference

How much wadding are you guys putting in the "box"? Dont know if the wadding should be packed super tight or just be a little bit in there.

After I did it my left rear sub sounds like it's blown. Even had half or less volume with the OP's sound settings. When I turn Surround off, it's unplayable. I took some wadding out but the subwoofer still sounds like it's blown/bottoming out even at low volume (any volume really).

Do not overpack the bass cavity with wading...You'll destroy lower bass response..

As described in my writeup only the inner walls of the cavity should be covered...I know some people have had problems in the past placing the thin sheet wadding against the walls...And although less than ideal, you can also pull the wadding sheets apart to fluff them up and very loosely fill the cavity...Just do not compress the wadding or you'll greatly reduce low end bass response...

Ideally, the wadding is supposed to line the cavity, not fill it. While it may.. erm, sound like an incredible coincidence, the speaker may be blown in and of itself - I don't think there's any reasonable way the wadding could make that happen but it may have just highlighted an underlying issue with that sub?
I'll take some wadding out but I'm afraid you may be right. Reading more about how the driver side woofers are a known problem on these cars and Toyota won't do anything about it. It really just sounds like the speaker is bottoming out, or like you're in a 1999 Camry whose speakers are so old and worn out. The issue reduces some when putting it back in SURROUND mode. But then that compromises the quality of the rest of the music. Smh

If it's under warranty I'd take it back to Toyota and get then to sort it. If it's out of warranty, it might be a good excuse to put a nice Focal setup in. ?‍♂

Still under warranty. 3k miles and only 6 months old. I just hate taking my cars to shops. Never trust them to treat the car like how I treat my cars. Thanks for the advice ?

Agreed. Toyota dealers are indeed the single biggest issue with the Supra. And you're welcome. Hope you get it all sorted.

Good to know, I packed my with wadding, I'll take some out this weekend and see how it sounds.

Just got a MY25 and would like to do this mod. It looks like the Noico lining is no longer available. Can anyone point me to another option?

It would easily add 3~4x the time and effort...Not sure why everyone is struggling with the wadding...It was fairly straight forward for me....

Also if you don't want to take the time to do the "fold / insert / unfold" technique through one of the 3 elongated front port holes you can always tear the wadding into small pieces and "loosely" stuff the cavity....do not overstuff the cavity as this will reduce bass response...

Here is a pic with woofer removed to give you an idea as to what it would still take in install wadding from the top (under the woofer)

Sub enclosure padding 2.jpg
TBH this should be in the main post. I think it would clear up everyones questions about the wadding insertion without removing the enclosure box. Took me 26 pages of reading to figure out how NOT to remove the sub enclosure and do the wadding. Cheers!

Edit: I ended up taking the side panels out and lifting the enclosure to remove the subs. PITA and broke a few tabs in the process. Probably not worth doing but I did get the wadding in the holes as cut out and shoved in

Anyone hesitant to cut holes in your panel should try just doing the 2” high density foam between the outer plastic panel and metal enclosure. I did this today with no other steps and am pleased with the difference it made.

A tip for installing the middle foam section is to cut it in half between the slits and put each side into the center bracket separately.

My Supra has some rattles from the subwoofers with low bass.
They already got replaced under warranty. This improved it a lot but the issue isn't gone. Sounds like a rattle caused by the trim but it's coming from the speaker itself at low frequencies.

Would the vents improve this?
Does anyone have the OEM part number of the trim piece that needs the 2 holes put in?

Try removing the trim and then playing music. The vents will effectively be the same as with the trim fully removed

Just completed the Tadda Port Mod. I got everything from Amazon in one delivery, and wanted to share reference links to help anyone in the USA thinking about doing this.

Some links are redundant with the first post, but listing everything for completeness.
These Grill Cover Mesh come disassembled and fit perfectly with the back of the Speaker Port Tube.

The grill's outer liner and screws are NOT used. Just keep the mesh.

These literally just pop on the back perfectly.

Apply a very thin layer of Hot Glue or Super Glue around the mesh's outer lip, then press the mesh down on to the back of the ABS Speaker Port.

I used a Hot Glue gun.

Flush fit.

Pop them in, glue, and you're done.

No it wont help. I went through this with the dealer on my car as well. We tried replacing the speaker and amp and neither made a difference. According to them they all do it.

If yours is like mine, the drivers side subwoofer is way worse. I just ended up unplugging that one. You lose a small amount of bass but the sound system is at least tolerable at that point.

Of the 13 cars I've had so far, these have probably the worst sound system.
