In what context? Only the older ones had the breakable plastic piece in the oil pump, and if any MKVs were potentially affected (in the US), it was the earliest MY 2020s. Otherwise we all have the updated pump, and nothing to worry about.
I remain unconvinced that this issue is solved in post-20 B58TU engines. Here is a '21 Supra with a failed oil pump replaced under warranty.

I see no proof he even had the polymer pump. Where's the photos and repair order notes? Pumps can fail for other reasons. I remain skeptical in the other direction.

I know you know your shit, so I'm not going to argue with you. I just gotta see specific evidence to be swayed.

This recall and potential issue ONLY affected the vacuum pump, not the engine oil pump. Big difference there.
I'm not so sure it only affects the vacuum pump. I did extensive research when I was trying to get a warranty claim on this. A lot of source will say it affected both oil and vacuum pump. Even when I went into Toyota and told them that their recall damaged both parts, they disregarded what I said and told me only my vacuum pump needed replacing. It took them 1 MONTH to replace my vacuum pump and my problem still persisted. They took the L and apologized and gave me a refund on the vacuum pump and I had to replace the oil pump at the end of the day. The recall definitely damaged both parts. My vacuum pump's valve was also damaged and they replaced that for free for me.

Edit: Meant to say brake booster instead of vacuum pump. Our oil pump and vacuum pump are the same part number. Both the brake booster and oil/vacuum pumps were affected by the recall still however. OP most likely has a damage oil/vacuum pump bc of the recall. Whether he was first or second owner he most likely drove/started the car in the incorrect way which damaged said parts. The recall was a DME update to prevent further damages. Whatever damages that already occured is now the aftermath of pre-recall update

The vacuum pump and oil pump are both located "in a shared housing" - I don't think you can replace one without the replacing the other...

This is fair skepticism and I appreciate it. The failure mode may not have been the same, but my head is in a place where I'm just baseline suspicious of all B58TU oil pumps.

Trying to imagine what happened: It's also possible that some of the polymer pump supply bled into the next model year's parts pool, which is exactly what happened to Kia in the Hyundai-Transys DCT recall crisis. There was a big ol' DCT recall, but those same faulty transmissions found their way into small amounts of subsequent model years.

You're right idk why I wrote vacuum pump when I meant brake booster. Our oil and vacuum pumps are the same part. The recall affected both the oil/vacuum pump and brake booster is what I meant to say.

Toyota thought the brake booster was at fault but it was the oil/vacuum pump. I'll edit my post

What engine support tool did you use so you could drop the sub frame?

So this repair solved all the codes etc?
Not sure, I have yet to complete putting the car together. I will update you when it’s done. Gotta bolt the subframe back in and waiting for my oil to arrive on Monday.

I saw your post farther back looking on instructions on how to do it, What did you use? Good job on doing it yourself!

You could probably get away with jack stands but I have a two post maxjax lift. Used an engine table lift and engine brace bar I got from harbor freight. Some power tools I already had and bought some sockets I needed. Took me all day but overall it was not as bad as it seemed.
