You don't know me, and neither do I know you. Wouldn't it be a bit immature to judge if someone a "real manual driver"? What would even be the definition of a manual driver? How did you know you were a manual driver?LOL
LOL
Umm.. clutches don't care about traffic if they are used properly... and your short trips to get take-out are likely far more damaging to the engine.
It's OK. Along with your other comments, this just confirms you have never actually been a manual driver. In my twenty years of being a manual driver I don't think I have ever been worried about being in traffic. Even in gridlock, I don't ever recall thinking, damn.. I wish I was in an auto.
Not really. The fewer people drive manuals, the fewer they will produce. Not sure why automatic drivers don't see that driving a car that automatically changes its gears is just moving one step closer to a car that automatically drives you around. ?‍
BUt THey wiLL bE FaSTeR and GReAT iN TRaFFiC! ?
My first car was a manual, drove through SF bay area traffic, and commuted up and down the bay, including the city through the slopes no issue. My first sports car was a 6 spd NC miata that I also commuted through SF, second was a S550 Mach 1 w/ the 6 speed tremec that I drove that thing in and out of Toronto. I've driven my fair share of manual and bought enough cars to know that it's not the best and most enjoyable experience just to be doing 1st-2nd gear driving in some of the worst traffic in North America. Where do you live? Have you been in actual gridlock?
In gridlock, I never wished I was in an auto equivalent of my fun cars. I wish I had taken my daily instead if not trying to get to the fun roads. I don't know what kinda fetish you have to enjoy gridlock in a high-horsepower manual car moving 50 feet every 2 minutes.
The point is, people buy their car for a reason. There's no trophy on who's driving a manual NOW and who's not. MR/MS "THE ACTUAL MANUAL DRIVER WHO HAD 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE DRIVING MANUAL"
